NCIA participates on a multi-stakeholder air working group composed of representatives from industry, municipalities, Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (ESRD) and other regional organizations, who developed an Air Quality Management Framework for the Capital Region and Industrial Heartland. Now in the implementation phase, it moves the long-standing system of regulating individual facility emissions, to regulating on a regional basis.
