Overview
The Fort Hills Energy Limited Partnership. (Suncor Energy Inc., UTS Energy Corporation, Teck Cominco Limited) acquired close to 6,000 acres of land in Sturgeon County and applied to build and operate an upgrader to be integrated with mining feedstock from operations north of Fort McMurray. The project has received regulatory approval - however, in light of economic factors, the final design, scope and timing of the project are under review and have not yet been determined.
