Gulf Chemical & Metallurgical Corporation (GCMC) is the world’s largest recycler of spent catalyst located in Freeport, Texas. The new Canada-based facility in Fort Saskatchewan is part of the company’s long-term strategic expansion into Alberta’s Industrial Heartland.
The full-service facility processes both RDS and HDS spent catalysts. GCMC is the only processor of spent catalyst that uses both a hydrometallurgical operation to produce the pure oxides of molybdenum and vanadium, and a pyrometallurgical operation to produce high quality metallic alloys and alumina products.
